Looking back, I’d have to say my detox journey began long
before I realised the need to do it. Sitting in an undergrad
biochemistry lecture in the mid-seventies, I first heard of the
storage of toxins in human body fat. Our lecturer described
how the fat-soluble toxins, such as pesticides and drugs, were
released into the bloodstream when a human broke down fat
by fasting or exercise. It could result in neurological symptoms
and even serious damage to organs and tissues as the poisons
travelled through the blood on their way out of the body. I always
remembered that lecture.
